Option 1 – Separating DNA fragments

Electrophoresis is the motion of dispersed particles relative to a fluid under the influence of an electric field that is space uniform.

It is not a method for changing genetic code or indicating presence of starch or separating color compounds. Hence, options 2,3 and 4 are incorrect.
